African Americans with bob cuts?

Why is my bob never...right??I got it cut over a month ago and it's never looked right(except when i got a relaxer shortly after that and i wrapped it to make it "fluffy").I want it straight sleek and shiny like Rihanna's.My hair is relaxed and the roots get "kinky-like" after a couple weeks and flat ironing dosent help the roots any.

What do I need to do to make my roots stay FLAT between relaxers??

HI I have a similar hairstyle now and to keep the roots flat bet. touch-ups I just wrap my hair at night. I wouldn't advise hot combing the roots as this could cause breakage. Try blowing out the roots or applying the flat iron to the roots only and then wrap. If all else fails throw few random curls in and make your bob work that way until you can get to a stylist, that is what I do.

are you maintaining your hair or is a hairstylist doing it? the reason I ask is because if a stylist is doing it she should know how to either press only the new growth or flat iron the roots straight. If your doing it yourself you can use an 1800 watt blow dryer with the comb on the end and blow dry your roots straight and then go back over it with the flat iron .

I see your problem,I got a bob like that a while back...it doesn't look it,but it's a high maintenance hairstyle. You have to remember that Rhianna is a celebrity,and she can have any hairstylist from any part of the country do her hair. the rest of us are not that lucky. For your roots to stay flat between relaxers,I would recommend a straightening comb,Just so they stay flat in the weeks that you need to get a relaxer. You can also try putting a bit of product in your hair before you go to sleep and wrapping it up,if you don't want to apply heat to your hair.
