I have always had fine hair ever since i can remember. My hair is shoulder length right now, and i am in nursing school...when we go on clinicals we have to wear our hair up in a bun which has been a bit of a hassel. We can wear our hair down as long as its off of our shoulders. I was thinking maybe getting it cut into a bob at about my chin and having it like jagged edged and layered in the back. I havent talked to a beautician about it yet but i was just wondering if it would be a bad idea to do that where my hair is so fine. I dont want to make it look even more thin. My hair is also very very dark brown and i was thinking of maybe getting some low lights. I have heard that coloring your hair will also had texture to it. So any of your opinions will be well appreciated... thanks =)
Thin hair?
layering hair will help to make it look thicker. it gives the illusion of depth. also, if you add a lighter color to the top of your hair, and leave the under darker, that helps with the illusion of depth as well. Coloring your hair... i guess you can say it adds texture, but what its really doing is frying it. thats why its not good to do it all the time. i have really fine hair too. but i get perms and i have it layered.
Thin hair?
sounds like a good idea but i personally like solid colors..
Thin hair?
There are 3 generations of cosmotologists in my family. And several of my family members have thin fine hair. Cutting it short will take weight off so it won't be flat against your head and appear thicker. I think your idea for a haircut would look nice. We just did one similar on my little cousin and it looks really good. And yes coloring your hair does add texture because it dries the hair in varying degree depending on how long it's left on and the kind of color used. You may want to consider an alternative color, since thin fine hair can also be very delicate. Check on salons that use colors devolped with enzymes instead of bleach or peroxide. My cousin uses a brand called John Amico (sp?). I really like it and it's much gentler on the hair, she uses it on me %26amp; I love it.
